The closest village is of Conques-sur-Orbiel (3km), home to a bakery and a couple of restaurants. There is a good choice of supermarkets in the outskirts of Carcassonne, including a Carrefour hypermarket around 10 minutes by car.
A short drive brings you to the heart of Carcassonne (10km), where the fairy-tale turrets of the medieval citadel rise above the landscape. Stroll through the cobbled lanes of the Cité, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, or explore the elegant Bastide Saint-Louis, the lively lower town filled with good restaurants, café-bars and a wonderful market.
